Automate the busywork

Let members manage their own billing, safely

Every expired card is a phone call somebody has to make. EPG gives your members a secure way to fix it themselves: they ask for a link by email, open their membership, and update the card on Stripe's own hosted page. You never handle a card number, and no member ever sees another member's details.

What is EPG customer billing self-service?

EPG customer billing self-service is a public page where a member of a merchant's membership requests a single-use, 30-minute link by email, then views their plan, price, status and next payment date, updates their payment method on the payment provider's hosted page, and can stop future renewals at the end of the paid period.

How the link works

  • A member enters their email and receives a single-use link, valid for 30 minutes.
  • Requesting a new link invalidates the previous one.
  • The response to a request is the same whether or not the email matches a membership, so the page cannot be used to discover who is a member.
  • Nothing is ever sent automatically; the member asks for it.

What a member can do

  • See their price, billing frequency, status and next payment date.
  • Update their card on the payment provider's own hosted page.
  • Stop future renewals at the end of the period they have paid for.

What a member cannot do

There is no refund button, no plan switch, no pause, and no immediate cancellation. Those decisions stay with the business, which keeps a member from accidentally changing money that has already been settled.

The facts

  • Access links are single-use and expire after 30 minutes.
  • Card details are entered on the payment provider's hosted page; EPG never sees or stores them.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period and creates no refund.
  • Link requests return an identical response regardless of whether the email matches a membership.

What this does not do

  • Card updates require the payment provider's customer billing-management setting to be enabled for the merchant's account; until then members are asked to contact the business.
  • Members cannot yet see a list of past membership payments or receipts inside EPG.
  • Members cannot pause, switch plans, cancel immediately or request a refund themselves.

Common questions

Do my members need an EPG account?
No. They request a secure single-use link by email and open their own membership. There is no password to create.
Does EPG store my members' card details?
No. Card details are entered and stored by the payment provider on its own hosted page.
Can a member cancel immediately and demand a refund?
No. Self-service cancellation only stops future renewals at the end of the period already paid for. Refunds remain a decision for the business.
What stops someone requesting a link for an email that is not theirs?
The link is emailed to the address requested, is single-use, expires in 30 minutes, and the page's response never reveals whether an email belongs to a member.
