Dispute management: know the deadline before it knows you
A chargeback is a deadline with money attached, and it usually arrives as an email you read too late. EPG lists your disputes with the reason code translated into English, the amount at stake, how long you have, and the record of what was actually sold — so responding is an hour of work rather than a day of archaeology.
What is EPG dispute intelligence?
EPG dispute intelligence is a read-only view of disputes on a merchant's connected Stripe account: the reason reported by the card network, the amount at risk, the response deadline, a priority derived from deadline and amount, the merchant's own dispute history, and the stored evidence EPG holds for that payment. EPG does not submit responses and does not decide outcomes.
What each dispute shows
- The reason as reported, explained in plain words.
- Money at risk, in whole cents.
- Time remaining until the response deadline.
- A priority based on deadline and amount, so the urgent one is first.
- Whether EPG holds a stored record for that payment, and what is in it.
Evidence gathered, not invented
EPG assembles what it genuinely recorded: what was bought, when, for how much, which policy versions were shown to the customer, whether the customer explicitly accepted them, and any delivery or service-completion record the business entered. Anything EPG does not hold is marked missing rather than filled in.
Who decides
The card issuer and the network decide disputes. Stripe is where a response is submitted. EPG's job stops at making the facts findable and the deadline visible.

The facts
- Dispute data is read from the merchant's connected Stripe account.
- Money at risk is reported in integer cents.
- Priority is derived from the response deadline and the amount, not from a prediction of the outcome.
- EPG does not submit dispute responses and does not decide dispute outcomes.
What this does not do
- EPG does not win, contest or prevent chargebacks, and makes no claim about outcomes.
- EPG is not the issuer, the card network or the acquiring bank.
- Evidence EPG never recorded cannot be produced later; the record says so plainly.
Common questions
- Does EPG fight chargebacks for me?
- No. EPG organises the deadline, the amount at risk and the stored record of the payment. Responses are submitted through Stripe, and the outcome is decided by the card issuer and network.
- How is dispute priority decided?
- By how soon the response deadline is and how much money is at risk. It is arithmetic, not a prediction.
- What evidence does EPG hold about a payment?
- What was purchased, the amount, the time, the policy versions presented to the customer, whether they explicitly accepted them, and any delivery or service-completion record the business entered. Anything not recorded is shown as missing.
- Can EPG stop disputes from happening?
- No. Good records and clear published policies can make a response easier to prepare, but no software can prevent a customer from disputing a payment.
