Repeat visits are the whole business

A salon lives on rebooking. Anything that pre-commits a client — a prepaid package of six blow-dries, store credit, a gift card bought by someone else — is worth more than a marginal difference in card rate.

That is why package balances and loyalty points belong in the payment system rather than a notebook. When the balance is attached to the client record, the front desk can see it during checkout, which is the only moment it matters.

Deposits and no-shows

A colour appointment can hold a chair for three hours. A card-backed deposit at booking makes that slot far more likely to be honoured, and a clear cancellation window stated at the time of payment gives you documented terms.

Multiple stylists, multiple locations

If you run more than one chair or more than one shop, you need staff logins with limited permissions and reporting that splits volume by person and by location. Sharing one owner login is how mistakes and disputes become untraceable.

Taking payment without buying a terminal

You can take a payment at the counter by typing the amount and showing a code the client scans with their phone, paying by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. There is no reader to buy and no hardware contract.
